Week 2 (8 Sept)
We started into the book this week talking about marketing. We talked about the different orientations. I found this a little difficult to distinguish between them at first. There is production orientation, this would focus on the internal capabilities of the firm rather than the desires and needs of the market. Then there was sales orientation that is based on the idea that people buy more when the aggressive sales techniques are used. The marketing orientation is when you obtain information about the customers, competitors, and market, and finally social marketing orientation.
